The United Nations is holding a major summit in Copenhagen in December 2009 to address global warming and climate change. The UN has also asked all religions to draw up a plan to handle this crisis.
EcoSikh is an emerging Sikh plan in response to this call of the UN. This plan along with other faith plans will be presented to the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon later this year.
A small team of experts from our community around the world has helped create a draft Sikh plan focused on assets, education, media/advocacy, eco-twinning, and celebration. The draft plan will be presented and used as a baseline for us to brainstorm, build upon, and transform into a formal scheme of action.
Your input and leadership will enable us to lay the foundation for a practical and innovative plan which Sikh communities around the world can adopt and show our collective resolve to heal the planet.
We sincerely hope that you will be able to join in this historical endeavor.
Hope to see you there!
